Navigating to the mark entry screen
- Go to Mark Entry from the main navigation.
- Select the Class, Subject, and Term (First Term, Second Term, or Third Term).
- Confirm the Academic Year (pre-filled from the current academic year).
- Click Load. The student list for that class and subject loads in the entry grid.
You will only see the subjects assigned to you by the admin. If a subject is missing from your list, ask the admin to assign you to it in the Subjects settings.
Entering marks
- Click the score field next to the first student's name.
- Type the score. The field validates the score as you type, it cannot exceed the maximum for the component (e.g. if CA1 weight is 20, you cannot enter 25).
- Press Tab to move to the next student's score field. Press Shift+Tab to go back.
- Repeat until all students in the list have a score entered. Students you have not yet entered are shown in light grey.

Saving vs submitting
- Save Draft, saves your progress without finalising. You can return and edit scores. The admin can see that mark entry is in progress but cannot generate report cards yet.
- Submit, locks the scores for this component. Once submitted, scores cannot be edited without admin approval to re-open the submission.
Save Draft frequently. The mark entry screen auto-saves every 2 minutes, but saving manually with the Save Draft button is faster. You can close the browser and return to your saved draft at any time before submission.
Entering marks for absentees
If a student was absent for an assessment:
- Enter 0 if school policy is to score absent students zero.
- Leave blank to mark the score as "Not Sat". The total on the report card will show "NS" instead of a calculated number, and no grade is assigned.
- If the student sat a make-up assessment, enter the make-up score as normal.
Viewing the running total
As you enter CA1 and CA2 scores, the Running Total column shows the partial sum so far. Once all three components are submitted, this becomes the Final Total and the Grade column populates automatically based on the grade bands.
Re-opening a submitted component
- The subject teacher requests a re-open from the mark entry screen by clicking Request Re-open.
- The admin receives a notification.
- The admin goes to Mark Entry → Submissions and approves the re-open.
- The teacher can now edit the scores.
- The teacher must re-submit when corrections are complete.
